lksotomotif.com - Mesin Toyota berkode  2TR-FE adalah mesin bensin berkubikasi 2693 cc I4 ( inline 4 silinder )  DOHC. Memiliki  16 katup dan sudah dilengkapi dengan teknologi pengatur katup VVT-i . Bertenaga 159 hp (119 kW) pada 5,200 rpm, dan torsi 180 lbf·ft (244 N·m) pada  3,800 rpm. Memiliki spesifikasi ukuran Diameter x langkah ( 95 mm × 95 mm ). 

Dari dimensi tersebut kita menyimpilkan bahwa mesin ini jenis square stroke. Salah satu kelebihan mesin jenis ini adalah tenaga akan merata pada setiap putaran mesin. 

Versi dual VVT-i dari 2TR-FE berdaya 163 hp (122 kW) pada 4000 rpm dan torsi 24,7 kg⋅m (242 N⋅m) pada 3400 rpm.

Komponen  kepala silinder mesin ini sudah menggunakan material aluminium. Kelebihan material alumunium tidak mudah karat, namun ini perlu menjadi perhatian tidak kuat menahan panas berlebih. 

Tidak perlu melakukan penyetelan katup  pada mesin in, ini karena mekanisme pembukaan katup sudah menggunakan hydraulic lash adjuster ( HLA) . Selain itu poros nok diputarkan oleh timing chain, jadi tidak ada jadwal penggantian.
