lksotomotif.com - Mesin Toyota berkode GD adalah mesin diesel yang diproduksi oleh Toyota sejak tahun 2015. Menggantikan seri mesin sebelumnya yaitu Toyota KD.  Mesin GD   dilengkapi dengan teknologi Economy with Superior Thermal Efficient Combustion (ESTEC).

Mesin GD ini diklaim tidak akan bermasalah ketika menggunakan  bahan bakar berkwalitas rendah solar biasa maupun Dexlite. Walaupun sebenarnya  Pertamina merekomendasikan mesin GD ini harus  menggunakan  Dex.

Mesin 2GD-FTV memiliki silinder 4 segaris 2.4L (2393cc) common rail dengan variable nozzle turbocharger (VNT) dan Intercooler. 

Sepesifikasi teknis dengan rasio kompresi 15.6:1. Dengan desain  diameter x langkah  ( 92.0 mm x 90.0 mm ). Dapat menghasilkan tenaga 150 tenaga kuda (110 kW) pada 3400 rpm, dan torsi 400 newton meter (41 kg⋅m) pada 1600-2000 rpm dengan transmisi otomatis 6 percepatan.

Pada Kijang Innova, daya yang dihasilkan sama 150 tenaga kuda (110 kW) pada 3400 rpm, namun torsi yang dihasilkan 36,7 kilogram meter (360 N⋅m) pada 1200-2600 rpm dengan transmisi otomatis 6 percepatan dn an 34,9 kilogram meter (342 N⋅m) pada 1200-2800 rpm dengan transmisi manual 5 percepatan

Mesin 2GD - FTV digunakan pada Toyota Kijang Innova, generasi kedua Toyota Fortuner dan generasi kedelapan Toyota Hilux.
